Package: pilot-link
Version: 0.11.8-12
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/share/man/man1/read-palmpix.1.gz
This is way too verbose:
# apropos read-palmpix
read-palmpix (1) - Convert all pictures in the files given or found via
connecting to a Palm handheld if no files are given. The default output type is
Portable Pixmap (.ppm).
Please try
$ dlocate -man pilot-link|cut -c 3-|xargs apropos
to find the rest of the over long ones.
Also, as the command apparently can copy pictures from the palm to the
desktop/laptop, there should be a SEE ALSO or some mention of a way to
copy pictures from the desktop/laptop to the palm. (At least plucker
can do that, I know). Then the man page could also be reworded to make
it not seem that one must be a Kodak owner to use the command.
Also the pilot-foto man page has the same problem. It doesn't mention
any hope of sending to, then seeing a .jpg on the Palm.
And read-palmpix and pilot-foto should be in each others' SEE ALSO.
P.S., looking at the pilot-foto man page:
NAME
pilot-foto - Decodes Palm 'Foto' Image files to jpg files you can read
Say "view", better than read.
DESCRIPTION
Decodes Palm 'Foto' Image files to jpg files you can read
Again.
Usage: pilot-foto -p <port> [options] file Options:
Say OPTIONS on a new line!
-f fetch files from the Palm
Say what files, and give example.

Hello,
The bug you reported has been closed by a version of pilot-link uploaded
in experimental. Version 0.12.1 is now stable upstream and has been
uploaded in Debian unstable so the bug is really closed now.
Thanks,
