Package: pngcrush
Version: 1.5.10-1
Severity: wishlist
Hello,
when called without arguments, or with invalid arguments, pngcrush
gives about 90 lines of output. Something like half of this is
copyright/disclaimer/credits/license information. I'd prefer that
when called with bad/missing arguments, pngcrush would just print
the 3 or 4 lines of usage information. Then a --help flag could
list all of the other options, and all of the legal information
could be included in --version (or even a separate --legal or some
such).
As it stands, pngcrush's output is pretty useless; any time I
accidentally get the 90+ line punishment for giving invalid
arguments, it's easier to pull up the manpage than to scroll back
and search (with my eyes) for the usage information. This is a big
issue for usability, IMO.
good times,
Vineet
