When installing lam-mpidoc it reports that it conflicts with mpi-doc.
In the README.Debian it says:-
"Man pages for the MPI function calls are currently included in the
mpich package (<1.1.2-1). With newer versions of mpich, these man

The mpich package is then labeled "Legacy package it is safe to remove."
