Hi Rob,
If gaim is closed when there are still messages left unread, these
messages are not requeued for reading in the System Tray icon or on
the buddy list. You are forced to check timestamps of all chat logs to
ensure that you haven't "lost" any messages upon restarting gaim if
you didn't read all pending messages at the time of closing it.
