Hello,
please try to open the attached file in the UTF-8 environment, eg. with
vim in uxterm with a working UTF-8 locale. The file is plain UTF-8 with
some strange chars in the subject, so there is from my point of view NO
NEED to convert it. (The used char range is russian cyrillic. If you
cannot read cyrrilic chars, you should still be able distinguish them
from binary garbage.)
So I hoped to open it in utf-8 mode and work with it as usual, but I
failed to do so with vim. vim always converts it, assuming that the
previous encoding was latin1. That is not tragical, but I was not able
to tell vim to NOT convert it but interpret as utf-8 file. The
documentation says that "fileencoding" and "encoding" values must match.
So I tried to construct an appropriate editor call for .muttrc, but in
every case it was not successfull. When using
--cmd "set fileencoding=utf-8 encoding=utf-8"
then vim still assumed that it is latin1, converting the text to binary
garbage. When using
-c "set fileencoding=utf-8 encoding=utf-8"
then vim also assumed that it is latin1, converted it, and set the
variables to the =utf-8 settings, but the file contents have already
been trashed.
So the quesion is: what is the way to forbid the automatic conversion
from commandline?
Regards,
Eduard.

I'm able to open the attached file with vim 7, and it does not make any
difference when opened with -b or not. AFAICT thus the bug is now fixed,
please reopen if this is not the case.
Cheers.
