As requested, I herby submit those man pages, where I haven't finished
the translation and submitted it to (a different) bug against dpkg.
Please add those files to the svn repository such that other
translators (or maybe even I at a later time) can continue the
translation. I leave it at your disposal how to treat this bug once
the files are submitted to the repository. I would prefer to *not*
remain the submitter after the relase of dpkg where the man pages were
checked in and (in source) distributed. Also I think it would be
sensible to mention these man pages in the changelog (even tough
they are not built) such that some reader might consider finishing them.

In the following lines I give you a (rough, as sometimes msgconv
considers lines as not translated, skewing the numbers) idea how far
the translation progressed and what kind of possible suggestions I
found. If you want, I can unfuzzy the translated parts afterwards,
simply tell me when to grab the new versions from the SVN is
sufficient, I'll post an updated tar ball to this bug afterwards.

Here it goes:
59 Strings, 41 untranslated (69 %) in ./dpkg-query.1/dpkg-query.1.pot

no improvement suggestions so far

70 Strings, 48 untranslated (68 %) in ./install-info.8/install-info.8.pot

no improvement suggestions so far

79 Strings, 49 untranslated (62 %) in ./dpkg-deb.1/dpkg-deb.1.pot

Usually you use underscores, e.g.:
-msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-I>|B<--info> I<archive> [I<control-file-name> ..]"
+msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-I>|B<--info> I<archive> [I<control_file_name> ..]"

-msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-f>|B<--field> I<archive> [I<control-field-name> ...]"
+msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-f>|B<--field> I<archive> [I<control_field_name> ...]"

-msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-x>|B<--extract>|B<-X>|B<--vextract> I<archive directory>"
+msgid "B<dpkg-deb> B<-x>|B<--extract>|B<-X>|B<--vextract> I<archive_directory>"

82 Strings, 52 untranslated (63 %) in ./dpkg-split.1/dpkg-split.1.pot

no improvement suggestions so far

129 Strings, 86 untranslated (66 %) in ./dselect.1/dselect.1.pot

no improvement suggestions so far

214 Strings, 141 untranslated (65 %) in ./dpkg-source.1/dpkg-source.1.pot

-"control. This is understood by B<dpkg-buildpackage> and B<dpkg-genchanges>."
+"control file. This is understood by B<dpkg-buildpackage> and
B<dpkg-genchanges>."

"source is being generated (ie, B<-b> or B<-B> haven't been used)."
"source is being generated (i.e., B<-b> or B<-B> haven't been used)."

I think it is or, or?
-"upload generated by B<dpkg-buildpackage> and B<dpkg-genchanges> if any "
+"upload generated by B<dpkg-buildpackage> or B<dpkg-genchanges> if any "

Well here you use british comma rules, above american (i.e. here you don't
use a comma behind "i.e.", in the above example you do). This should be
done uniformly, at least within one document / man page
-"if the version number ends in B<-0> or B<-1>, ie if the Debian revision part "
+"if the version number ends in B<-0> or B<-1>, i.e. if the Debian revision
part "

In case you think one of these man pages should be treated with high
priority I might consider completing this particulare man page in due
time.

Greetings

             Helge

   * Add initial support for the Breaks field, by parsing but rejecting it.
Thanks to Ian Jackson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. Closes: #375703

architecture, instead of duplicating the logic in the m4 files.
   * Remove comment headers in dselect/helpmsgs.{cc,h} about the files being
autogenerated, replace them with a proper license and copyright comment.
