For the first time (in a while, at least), I tried to use Amarok to play an
audio CD. I went to the "Engage" menu and clicked "Play audio CD". The status
bar said that it
couldn't read the CD. I reran Amarok from the console and here's the output.
$ amarok
Amarok: [Loader] Starting amarokapp..
Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use
amarokapp.
QLayout "unnamed" added to QVBox "unnamed", which already has a layout
QLayout: Adding KToolBar/mainToolBar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for
PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow
CDROMREADTOCHDR: Input/output error
Right now I'm ripping it with Konqueror, so the CD is fine.
I verified that the CDROM device is properly set in the Xine Engine settings.

I just realized that somehow my /dev/cdrom link had been changed to point
to /dev/hdd instead of /dev/hdc. That would explain why Amarok couldn't read
the CD in hdc. :)
