Package: hal
Version: 0.5.8.1-1
Severity: important

07_ppc_suspend.patch causes hald to crash on startup on this machine.

+       if (!strcmp(hal_device_property_get_string(d, "power_management.type"),
"pmu")) {
+ /* We got our own helper for suspend PMU machines */
+               can_suspend = TRUE;
+       }

it appears that the hal_device_property_get_string call returns NULL,
so strcmp dies. Removing the patch and rebuilding the package gives
me a working hal daemon.
