Support for plug-ins compiled against Gaim beta 3 was broken by this update.
Gaim shows the following error message in the plug-ins dialog:
Error: You are using gtk-gaim, but this plugin requires gtk.
I don't know if you want to push this bug to the plug-ins or handle it as a
regression. In the former case, I've noticed that nautilus-sendto,
gaim-encryption and gaim-otr broke with this update.

This should be taken up with the plugin packages, which in most cases just
require a simple rebuild.
