Package: caca-utils
Version: 0.9-4
Severity: wishlist

Since the version of cacaview supplied in Debian is built against X11
libraries, it cannot be used over terminal connections. This
makes the program not really useful, since under X11, traditional
image viewers can be executed anyway. Built only against slang and
ncurses, cacaview could be very useful for browsing and retrieving
images via an ssh connection to a remote computer.

It would be great if caca-utils also provided a binary "cacaview-nox"
(similar to "elvis-nox") or "cacaview-tty" for the above purpose.
