Package: jikes
Version: 1.18-7
Severity: important
On ARM architecture, during compilation of GNU Classpath Jikes eats
up whole memory of the machine and is killed by the OOM killer.
This can be seen for ex. here:
http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.php?&pkg=sablevm-classlib&ver=1.0.9%2Bsvn20040115-1&arch=arm&stamp=1074248754&file=log&as=raw
It is easily reproducible, on arm> I've just hit that again on
debussy.debian.org. I quickly looked at jikes upstream bugs, but
nothing similiar has been reported. I guess quite few people
compile java source on ARM.
Anyway - for me it's a major showstopper, because this way I cannot
support SableVM on arm as I am unable to compile the classpath.
