After checking the option: "Ask where to save for each file download" I
expected to recieve a pop up window or similar when starting my next
download, but nothing like it happens. The file is just saved to my
default download directory as if the option where not checked.

For what it's worth I'm not running a full gnome session, but a
ratpoison environment. Could it be that the option requieres some gnome
background process? In that case I would expect an error message of some
kind if my environment is not adequate for gwget.
