Upon this upgrade, the transparency yields a bad color if my
desktop background is set to vertical or horizontal gradient
or any background image that sets a gradient background beneath.
It is usually a poo-brown or vomit-green, of course. :-)
Solid background color and background images that set a solid
background beneath them still work fine.
