--- Begin Message ---Package: denyhosts Version: 2.5-3 Severity: minor The reason this all came about was that I had changed the DENY_THRESHOLD_INVALID config option to 0 which then caused denyhosts to complain about the existence of this option (it never started back up after changing this value last night). This morning attempted to install the update to this package and it appears the preinstall script tried to stop denyhosts but couldn't and received an error from invoke-rc.d or the init script. Suggested solution: Check to be sure denyhosts is running '[ -e /var/run/denyhosts.pid ]' and if not, just install the update otherwise stop the daemon and then install update.
