Severity: important

Bug #319930 has the same description, but it was closed a year ago
during the transtion from kernel-headers-* to linux-headers-*, so I
assume it has a completely different cause.

I have the following linux-image- and linux-headers- packages installed:

linux-headers-2.6.17-1 2.6.17-4
linux-headers-2.6.17-1-686 2.6.17-4
linux-headers-2.6-686 2.6.17-4
linux-image-2.6.17-1-686 2.6.17-4
linux-image-2.6-686 2.6.17-4
linux-kbuild-2.6.17 2.6.17-2
linux-kernel-headers 2.6.17.6-1

uname -r agrees: 2.6.17-1-686

/usr/src/linux is a symlink to /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.17-1-686.
The directories linux-headers-2.6.17-1 and linux-kbuild-2.6.17 also
exist. (The symlink was created by m-a's PREPARE menu option.)

When I try to build a module with m-a I get, "Bad news, the kernel
headers for the target kernel version could not be found and you did not
specify other valid kernel headers to use." Then it instructs me to
either choose the PREPARE option or install linux-headers-2.6.17-1-686,
which is already installed. (PREPARE just tries to download it and says
that it is already there.)
