Try to use: $ LANG=en_IE jpilot I also have filenames with non ASCII chararacters but they are displayed correctly in the backup plugin. The difference is that I do not use a UTF-8 locale but just $LANG=fr_FR If I use LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 I can reproduce the crash. I will work on it.
