Hi! As I spoke with kov today, I'm making my thinstation image available, so that anyone can try and reproduce this bug.
In http://www.marga.com.ar/~marga/debian/thinstation/ You'll find the file "ati.nbi" which is the image to boot, with Ati video card. If you need a different video card, please let me know, I can generate a new image. Also in that directory you'll find a .conf file, that you might want to change, so that it resembles your environment. Place both of them in the /tftpboot directory (I think this is the default for the tftp package). In a DHCP configuration file, include a line for the thinclient you want to boot. host caronte { hardware ethernet 00:08:54:11:AB:14; fixed-address caronte.amadeus; filename "/tftpboot/ati.nbi"; } You need to have a sarge machine with XDMCP running, and specify the name of the machine (or the IP in case you don't have name resolution) in the .conf file The root password of the image is "cajon1". The image runs Xorg, and for some reason, Xorg :1 does not work. Oh, and to boot the machine you can use any network booting utility. I use the images generated from http://www.rom-o-matic.net If you need any more detailed instructions on how to do this, please let me know. On a secondary note, I'm suspect that the problem is not of capplets (i.e. not of gnome-settings-daemon) but of libxklavier, since the segfault occurs when calling the Gswitchit function of this lib. Should we reassign? I don't really feel like reassigning, because I'm guessing nobody will find it if it's not in capplets. -- Besos, ,''`.
