To start with a "clean" firefox i moved .mozilla out of the way. To browse the web I had to enter a proxy autoconfiguration script (a squid proxy). Opening 30 tabs simultaneously made firefox freeze for about ten seconds. With freezing I mean to do nothing, but hanging within a futex call. As I told you other programs (like mozilla) show a similar behaviour, so this might be the wrong place.
