it's not a bug, it's a feature :->

More seriously: you need to have Sun or Blackdown Java installed per dpkg
on your computer for making the freemind package happy.
Sadly, there is no pre-packaged (un-free) Java, possibly for licensing
reasons, in Debian, hence you need to package Java yourself.
Procedure:
# apt-get install java-package
- read documentation
- create Sun or Blackdown package
- install it
# apt-get install freemind should then work...
