This test has been done on a chroot where the /etc directory was completely
removed:
# mkfs.ufs /tmp/foo
/tmp/foo: 10.0MB (20480 sectors) block size 16384, fragment size 2048
using 4 cylinder groups of 2.52MB, 161 blks, 384 inodes.
super-block backups (for fsck -b #) at:
160, 5312, 10464, 15616
mkfs.ufs: Cannot retrieve operator gid
I don't think mkfs.ufs really needs the operator gid in order to create a
filesystem. If it means to get the root group gid, then just using 0 as a
fallback is much saner than just not working at all.
