To clarify, there's no means of directly performing any operations in
colordiff which relate to anything smaller than a single line of output.

Having said that, one can use wdiff (piped to colordiff) to answer most
of those "Where is that change appearing in this long line, I can't see
it?" questions.

For whitespace changes, however, wdiff doesn't seem to help,
unfortunately.
