In i386
$ echo "foo" | gnuplot
gnuplot> foo
^
line 0: invalid command
while as you write
$ echo "foo" | gnuplot -
Segmentation fault
which is indeed a bug, if '-' is supported should work, otherwise should
fail gracefully.

By the way, just noticed about
#665832 gnuplot: Crashes with "Segmentation fault" on every command
happening in x86_64 (this may make things different from i386, where
things mostly work).
