Thanks for reporting, this is known upstream too: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47266 It's a bug in the X server in EXA, which existed since a long time but was exposed with the new cairo upgrade because the code path wasn't used much by anything in the past. FWIW, I can't reproduce this here but apparently enough people have the same problem.
