I don't understand why it cannot link directly to the shared version. Static linking against libraries for Debian packages should be avoided like hell, be it only for security updates.

Currently, the ole2 plugin is disabled on hppa - should be just a workaround and not a permanent solution. The static PIC libglib is still needed.
