Well, important is conventional for FTBFS that are either not regressions or that only occur on non-release architectures. The main point was that it wasn't RC though, because the package hadn't previously built on the architectures on which it FTBFS. (Although there is an argument that if there's a patch available to make it build on those architectures then it could become RC.)
