Replying to an old bugreport, see http://bugs.debian.org/653473 for full prior history. This topic popped up again today, I did another bisection of a netbsd networking problem, and discovered that: a) I can reproduce these issues (with netbsd at least) now on my machine, so I can bisect them; b) the patch I mentioned previously -- http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.qemu/130695 -- hasn't found its way into any qemu tree, neither stable 1.0.1 nor master git branch. c) the patch mentioned in that thread actually fixes the issues with both netbsd and openbsd, mentioned in this bugreport. So.. hum. I mark this bug as important, since these are really important guests to support. Waiting for the upstream to shed some light as of why it hasnt been applied.
