The XML web API has changed and the library will not work at all. No bug fix release will come along - upstream has completely rewritten the library, with a distinct SONAME and different C/C++ API. More than 10 other packages need to be prompted to make code changes or remove their dependency on this library. Consequently, the bug is marked important.
