Bug#329467: libnss-pgsql1: getgrent_r group database query deadlocks if database is not available

I was working on getting libnss-pgsql to work on FreeBSD when I encountered the problem described in #329467.

#329467 includes a patch to interface.c which avoids the problem in possibly most situations. However, isn't the bug really that _nss_pgsql_setgrent() always explicitly returns NSS_STATUS_SUCCESS instead of returning retval?
