ODF has many ways of including the chart. It seems that LibreOffice 3.4 switched to including the charts inside a table:shapes environment rather than the table:cell it used to use. Gnumeric 1.10.17 did not support charts inside table:shapes. This has been fixed in the current development version. (!.11.4 shows the graph. I would assume that an earlier 1.11.x version also already shows the graph.)
