This package needs an maintainer to have it upgraded to the latest version. The urgent is quite high because Debian will freeze in one month. I'm willing to help with the packaging but I'm just a novice. If someone is prepared to assist I'll be happy to do the work as well! Please reply in the bug report if you are willing to help, thank you.
I do not have a lot of time for my packages since a while. I should have probably orphaned them. I will try to have a look at this anyway since I would like to continue with them.
However, if you can help, you may want to chekout the git repository, patch the package, and ask a debian maintainer to NMU it.
