Package: gnome-shell Version: 3.2.2.1-4+b1 Followup-For: Bug #670548 > This was added in [1] on purpose, it seems. So adding a recommends (or > at least suggests) on gkbd-capplet looks like the right thing to do on a > cursory glance.
I'd rather opt for a depends here since gnome-shell behaves errornously in this regard if the package gkbd-applet is missing. Doesn't the Debian policy state that a package has to be a dependency for another package if the latter does not work properly without it? Also, most users probably won't be able to figure out how to fix this error with gkbd-keyboard-display missing unless they do a web research. The additional disk space required for gkbd-capplet is ~57 kB, so I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to install it in any case.
