So one problem is that it ships an outdated kernel module in usbip-source which
should simply be dropped. The module is even activated in the Debian kernel,
despite its staging status. But the other is that upstream moved into the
kernel:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=tree;f=drivers/staging/usbip/userspace;hb=dcd6c92267155e70a94b3927bce681ce74b80d1f

So one would need to ensure that the library didn't mess with its symbols (or
change the version accordingly) and preferably build it from something like
linux-tools. For wheezy it should be sufficient to take the source of the
appropriate kernel version, tar it and update the package; dropping
usbip-source in the process.
