it'd be nice if obnam allowed one to say 'obnam backup <device-node>' and it treated the device node just like a file with (lots of) data. That way, in combination with lvm snapshots, we could do consistent backups of a large filesystem. In the long term it'd then also be nice to optionally ask file-system specific libraries which of the blocks are in use, but that's secondary for now.
