The patch at

rips out all the phone_home code, since there's no current party that's
interested in usage counts.
I think I've failed to forward it to upstream correctly, though (I sent it
as a git format-patch instead of attaching it to the SourceForge patch
tracker). Asheesh, please poke me if I haven't fixed that by tomorrow.
