I have a large '/usr/local' partition containing lots of source code and merging '/usr' into '/' would be non-trivial.
Would it be possible to work around the problem by copying the library
to the '/lib/...' directory so it is included in the initramfs image?
Would systemd be able to find
that copy of the library?
