It is in fact unstable, having been apt-get update'd for several years (5?) now.

However, it looks like the last major perl update has not been
successfully applied somehow ... will look into that & fix it up.
Sorry Laurent, I thought the original problem was on a different build
machine, didn't realise I'd hit it again.
