Package: postgresql-8.4 Version: 8.4.11-0squeeze1 Severity: important Tags: ipv6
I'm trying to setup a postgresql server in a jail on a freebsd server with no ipv4 support. The installer crashes when it test for free ports (assuming ipv4 is there). I guess it also crashes if no networking is enabled at all. relevant errors during install : Setting up postgresql-8.4 (8.4.11-0squeeze1) ... could not create socket: Protocol not supported at /usr/share/postgresql-common/PgCommon.pm line 591. Error: could not create default cluster. Please create it manually with I would expected the installer to install it using ipv6 or at least configure it without networking. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: kfreebsd-amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: kFreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE-p3 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages postgresql-8.4 depends on: ii libc0.1 2.11.3-3 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcomerr2 1.41.12-4stable1 common error description library ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.8.3+dfsg-4squeeze5 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii libkrb5-3 1.8.3+dfsg-4squeeze5 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-7.2 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam0g 1.1.1-6.1+squeeze1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpq5 8.4.11-0squeeze1 PostgreSQL C client library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-4squeeze12 SSL shared libraries ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-2+squeeze3 GNOME XML library ii locales 2.11.3-3 Embedded GNU C Library: National L ii postgresql-client- 8.4.11-0squeeze1 front-end programs for PostgreSQL ii postgresql-common 113 PostgreSQL database-cluster manage ii ssl-cert 1.0.28 simple debconf wrapper for OpenSSL ii tzdata 2012c-0squeeze1 time zone and daylight-saving time postgresql-8.4 recommends no packages.
