I would suggest that you get into direct contact with the upstream developers [1] and send your patch to [email protected]. I also once sent a few patches to them and they were very happy to integrate them into the upstream source code, so I'd give it a shot :). Just clone the upstream git repository [2], make your changes and generate a patch with git format-patch and send the patch to the mailing list git send-email, see for example [3].
