As you suggested I did a "ltsp-build-client --arch i386 --dist sid --mirror http://192.168.0.10/apt cacher/cdn.debian.net/debian" Now it works again :-) The goal originally had been to minimize maintenance and hardware resources of the thin clients. Thought it would be a good idea to use Debian Stable for the chroot environment. So I only had to maintain the server. Seems that was an aberration. Bug can be closed.
