Is this a bug in aufs? Or are we mounting the aufs overlay incorrectly? Can you set up an aufs overlay by hand on the host without error? (i.e. not involving schroot.) IIRC someone mentioned that aufs wasn't working properly, but I don't use it myself, and I don't have it set up on my system, so it would be very helpful if someone with aufs knowledge could take a look at this one.
