Package: network-manager-gnome Version: 0.9.4.1-1+b1 Severity: normal I recorded a screencast that shows how the bug occurs:
http://lindi.iki.fi/lindi/screencast/network-manager-gnome-fixing-APN-not-possible-after-mistake.webm Steps to reproduce: 1) setup usb 3G modem and use it 2) go to "Options..." of the broadband connection and change the APN to something invalid. 3) unplug and replug the modem 4) Try to go to the "Options..." to fix the APN. Expected results: 4) The "Options..." dialog can be accessed and the mistake made by the user in step 2) can be corrected. Actual results: 4) The "Options..." dialog is grayed out. The user is helpless and the only way to fix the situation seems to be to edit /etc/ from command line. but -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-486 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages network-manager-gnome depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.6.0-1 ii dpkg 1.16.4.3 ii gconf-service 3.2.5-1 ii gconf2 3.2.5-1 ii gnome-icon-theme 3.4.0-2 ii libatk1.0-0 2.4.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.12.2-1 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.0-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.98-1 ii libgconf-2-4 3.2.5-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-1 ii libgnome-bluetooth10 3.4.1-1 ii libgnome-keyring0 3.4.1-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.4.2-1 ii libnm-glib-vpn1 0.9.4.0-5 ii libnm-glib4 0.9.4.0-5 ii libnm-gtk0 0.9.4.1-1+b1 ii libnm-util2 0.9.4.0-5 ii libnotify4 0.7.5-1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ii network-manager 0.9.4.0-5 ii policykit-1-gnome 0.105-2 Versions of packages network-manager-gnome recommends: ii gnome-bluetooth 3.4.1-1 ii iso-codes 3.36-1 ii libpam-gnome-keyring [libpam-keyring] 3.4.1-4 ii mobile-broadband-provider-info 20120402-1 ii notification-daemon 0.7.5-1 Versions of packages network-manager-gnome suggests: pn network-manager-openvpn-gnome <none> pn network-manager-pptp-gnome <none> pn network-manager-vpnc-gnome <none> -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
