Package: vsftpd
Version: 3.0.0-3
Followup-For: Bug #679710
Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
When trying to upgrade to 3.0.4 I got the above error. When I then try to
remove the current version I get
the following message:
Removing vsftpd ...
/etc/init.d/vsftpd: line 36: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
invoke-rc.d: initscript vsftpd, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: error processing vsftpd (--remove):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
/etc/init.d/vsftpd: line 36: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
invoke-rc.d: initscript vsftpd, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
vsftpd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
No solution at this time.
* What was the outcome of this action?
The package remains half installed.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Either the upgrade works or the removal works.
