Package: python-minimal
Version: 2.7.3~rc2-1
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/python

Attempting to upgrade from squeeze to wheezy, having edited
/etc/apt/sources.list and done "apt-get update", I get:

  root@p639:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
  ...
  Selecting previously unselected package libsemanage-common.
  Unpacking libsemanage-common (from .../libsemanage-common_2.1.6-6_all.deb) ...
  Processing triggers for man-db ...
  Processing triggers for gconf2 ...
/usr/bin/python: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
  dpkg: error processing gconf2 (--unpack):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
configured to not write apport reports
  Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils ...
  Processing triggers for menu ...
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   gconf2
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
  root@p639:~#

This leaves the machine in a messed-up state:

  root@p639:~# apt-get install libssl1.0.0
  ...
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify
a solution).
  root@p639:~# apt-get -f install
  ...
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.
  E: Unable to correct dependencies
  root@p639:~#

My workaround is to install libssl1.0.0 prior to dist-upgrade. I wonder
if there is a better way, whether adding a pre-depend would help.

Thanks, Paul
