Hello Jason, it's quite some time ago you started this bug. This bahavior souns like a "classical" crash. The reported version in your bug is of course now a little bit older. Many new versions between your reporting date and now are released. So I think this problem maybe is gone thrue the years.
Did you have still problem with a sporadical closing of icedove? I not this bug can be closed.
