Hi,

Perhaps the sequence modules could contain such information?  This would
allow third-party sequences to take advantage of this optimization as well.

Can you remember what method you used to determine this?  I would like
to see if this is still the case, before I try look at optimizing it (if
only to know when I am done ;) ).
