Hm. Nope. The command line (as used by Emacs' ispell.el) is as follows:

/usr/bin/ispell -a -m -C -d german

This tells me that "nachstandanden" is a compound word here. Any
way to see which rules it uses?

I'd disagree. Especially since it's an uncommon word it should be
in the dictionary! The way I noticed it was missing was that I
used it in a text, and wondered why it was flagged as wrong. I had
to check with my Duden to see ispell was wrong. I usually like to
trust ispell.
