Adding "sleep 6" in the beginning of /lib/hotplug/input.rc also "fixes" it. It seems to take that long before this box sets up all USB things and detects the mouse, and I think only after that the mouse is visible in /proc/bus/input/devices. Btw, the new udev package also loads evbug; is this intentional? It seems like it writes every single keystroke to the kernel log.
