Package: dbconfig-common Version: 1.8.5 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Attempting to install a package that uses dbconfig-common twice or install then purge a package results in an uninstallable or unpurgable package. The problem is that the second time the scripts are run, they try to find the mysql administrator username. However this turns out to be the pgsql admin, postgres! Naturally mysqld doesn't know about this postgres user and it bombs. It appears the second time around the scripts don't realise that they are trying to configure a postgresql and not mysql database. This problem is visible in my own package as well as db-test. If you want a copy of my package I can make it available. - Craig -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: alpha Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-generic Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages dbconfig-common depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.57 Debian configuration management sy ii pwgen 2.04-1 Automatic Password generation ii ucf 1.17 Update Configuration File: preserv -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
