When an alarm goes off and the play sound and pop up event and
notifications are enabled, all the alarms pop up/sound at least
once per second and 'silence' on the notification or 'stop'
on the dialog, have no effect (i.e. popups keep happenning,
sound keeps going).
This sounds close to a bug I reported :

If I create an "All day event" with an alarm (eg. a birthday), when the
alarm time has come, orage keeps notifying every second : the default
orage alarm windows accumulate on the screen. If notification is
enabled, on screen notifications soon fill the screen.
This happens whether "persistent alarm" is checked or not.
This does not happen if a start time and an end time are provided
instead of the "All day event" option being checked.

Yet, I'm unsure we're dealing with the same bug, as you say :

In my case, the time between two notifications is precisely one second.
What do you think, Daniel ?
Anyway, the patch should be included in Wheezy to address bug 8525.
