Package: pbuilder
Version: 0.135
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

it seems that pbuilder tries to get the basedebs from some hardcoded FTP
mirror URL, http://ftp.jp.debian.org/debian. This is maybe fine for the
maintainer, but not for us in the outside world. In fact, it should try
to get the mirror URL from the local sources.list file and only fall
back on the hardcoded value if that does not work (and announce what it
does, LODLY). Otherwise, it can suck hundreds of megabytes from external
mirrors though the user most likely does not want to do that because the
outside traffic costs money while a local mirror may be available and
known in the apt configuration on the host system.

Eduard.
